 WinAMS Software Updates - 7.0.23.7878 - Posted: 11/01/2007

This build DOES NOT require you to run individual workstation updates if you have not done so since Version 7.0.20.7400.

 WinAMS Software Updates - 7.0.20.7640 - Posted: 10/02/2007

This build DOES NOT require you to run individual workstation updates if you have not done so since Version 7.0.20.7400.

  • FMM: Locked charts can now be unlocked by someone with an access level sufficient to edit other's charts.
  • FMM & DS: Daily Summary report enhanced to add total transports by Division, total Ground Scene transports, and added Requesting Unit for Scene calls.
  • Notebook Merge with network works correctly for unlocked charts.
  • DS: LLI only: Receiving Agency address added to request chart.
  • New setting under Manager->Configure->FMM Global allows you to check if this workstation is a notebook computer allowed to work "off the net". Right now the only two things this does are to add a "New Request" option under the Request menu and to remove the ability to Lock Edit when saving a request.
  • Summary numbers changed to count patients, not requests.
  • If an aircraft managed to get saved with a blank maintenance status, couldn't edit it. Fixed.
  • If you changed a flight plan during a liftoff event such that the total mileage and/or block time was too great (i.e. inaccurate coordinates were used) you would get an error message. Now you will get a warning message so that it will be more obvious where the problem lies.
  • Some bar code changes for Teddy Bear Air and some history number format changes for Orlando are included.
  • New eDischarge input interface added to StatWin. Please contact IE for details if interested.
  • FMM: New Sacco Triage Method (STM) score field added to Vital Signs screen.
  • Bug where saving a new User-Defined Audit could overwrite an existing Support list entry fixed.
  • Bug where Viewing an uneditable picklist entry duplicated it fixed.
  • FMM: Print Request: Pupil reactivity prints correctly.
  • FMM: Equip/Belonging Dispo: Category can be edited.
  • End date not after start date" warning message won't display with empty end date.
  • Orlando file folder label printout fixed.
  • Various "boundary" errors (what happens with empty pick lists, when files won't open, etc) fixed.
  • Pupil reaction prints correctly on chart.
  • Personal MD selection works again.
  • DSW: Print Flight Plan cosmetically tweaked.
  • Reports->Pilot->Filot Log improved.
  • Reports->Exports->Export Requests: Two new "virtual" fields added to the list: LOC_LAT_N and LOC_LON_N are numeric degree values for the pickup coordinates. Makes it easy to plot calls in Map Point and other plotting tools.
  • More of the Continuing Education tasks have been integrated into the Flight Management Module. You may now enter skills performed OFF transports in ContinuED->Skills, and you may now print the three Attendance reports under ContinuED->Reports->Attendance.
  • Florida clients: The Florida State Quarterly Aggregate Report is now complete. You may run it from Reports->Custom Reports->Fl State Report. Note: For the report to be accurate, you must first have edited ALL of the entries in the Manager->Ed Support->Request Type and Manager->Ed Support->Disposition pick lists and selected a value for the Florida field. (Whether or not you have matching entries for all the values in the Florida pick lists is up to you.)
  • Entries erased from a multiple-tag list (used in many state-specific fields) would not be deleted from the request if they were un-highlighted. Fixed.
  • Errors caused the program to close even if you did not click the "Quit Program" button. Fixed.
  • New ContinuEd features:
    1. You can now add certifications without adding courses; see ContinuEd->Certifications.
    2. Two new reports: ContinuEd->Expirations->By staff and ContinuEd->Expirations->By certification
  • "Race" prints correctly on chart.
  • PA only: Location Type uses expected pick list.
  • "Lock Chart" records elapsed time (minutes) from call completion to chart locking in the EMS_NO field, usable in user audits.
  • The default values in the Print Request checkboxes for Include Insurance | Notifications | Insurance can now be changed with settings in the amsglobal.ini file. Examples:
    • [DISPATCH]
    • RptRqIncludeInsurance=0
    • RptRqIncludeNotifications=1
    • RptRqIncludeActivity=1
  • "Medical Control" field issues cleaned up across multiple clients.
  • If notification times are filled in when editing a request, activity log entries are generated and (potentially) event pages are triggered, just like if you did them with .
  • DUAT weather checking was being triggered on ground vehicles; fixed.
  • Location LAT/LON had stopped being automatically filled in on interhospital transports. Works again.
  • Spell checker had disappeared in DSW. It is back.
  • Notification area on request printout rearranged to make more room. It still will not fit everything if you fill the fields with ALL CAPS, but as long as you use mixed case you will be fine.
  • Country was printing twice in the patient address. Fixed.
  • New command-line parameter FMM G will cause all derived fields (TYPE_TYPE, DISPO_TYPE, PT, IH, TRANSPORT, elapsed times) to be updated in all monthly files.
  • More empty field checking for PA State Export.
  • SSN no longer prints on blinded charts.
  • Spell checking disabled for paging text.

With Version 7.0.22 the former Continuing Education Module is now fully integrated with Flight Management. The entry screens are found under the ContinuEd menu group, and the reports are found both in ContinuEd->Reports and Reports->ContinuEd. There are eight reports:
  • National Registry: print a paramedics National Registry recertification hours
  • Staff Hours: course hours for the rest of us
  • Expirations by Staff: see when your certifications expire
  • Expirations by Certification: Plan when to hold the next course
  • Attendance Checkoff Sheet: Print this to use as a sign-in sheet before the course is held
  • Attendance Signup Sheet: Blank lines, useful for outreach
  • Attendance by Course: Print after a course to keep a record of who attended
  • Skills by Crew Member: Keep track of skills on and off flights
  • There are now three entry screens:
  • Courses
  • Skills - performed NOT on transports
  • Certifications - this is a new screen, allows you to enter the certifications for a staff member without entering the course they attended; useful for initializing the system.

 WinAMS Software Updates - 7.0.20.7640 - Posted: 07/25/2007

This build DOES NOT require you to run individual workstation updates if you have not done so since Version 7.0.20.7400.

  • FMM: Maternal / Neonatal Hx fields: Gravida, Para, Prenatal Care fields added; "Fluid" -> "Amniotic Fluid" and field size increased; Birth Weight changed to grams; Gest Age, added "digit" for days.
  • FMM: Life Lion changes: History # -> MRN; Basic Charges $$$ column deleted; Complications Table added; RTS Score fields removed; Acct # field removed.
  • DS & FMM: Race field is now a regular picklist.
  • DS & FMM: Receiving agency no longer prints on chart for aborted or cancelled transports.
  • DS & STATWIN: Columns in pending request picklist and status screens changed a little; Request Type is now more prominent.
  • FMM: Life Lion only: "Lock Chart" now prohibits printout of charts that don't pass the PA Export test.
  • FMM: Life Lion only: Default print options when completing a chart hard-coded.
  • FMM: GCS field tooltips add pedi values
  • FMM: Glucose field allows 4 digits.
  • FMM: Life Lion Only: Changes made to maternal history checkboxes.
  • FMM: Life Lion Only: Skin sign fields deleted.
  • FMM: Temperature fields added (C) label.
  • FMM: IV Rate field added ml/hr label; tooltip added to clarify that WO, TKO, and KVO are also acceptable.
  • DS & FMM: Weight field added kg label.
  • DS: You will no longer receive a warning message if a SkyConnect message comes in for a vehicle which is not on an active request.
  • DS & STATWIN: SkyConnect position reporting functionality moved from DS CDU Server into STATWIN. Now if a position report comes in while DS is shut down it will still get logged.
  • FMM: Laptop Host Sync will not sync with a locked chart.

A little instruction on using the "post" function to close charts for further editing. Checking "Lock Further Edits" when printing a chart from Flight Management will prevent further access to or editing of that chart. This feature does not need to be used by your program if you do not wish to but it is provided for all. Here is the logic fro being able to edit requests: In Dispatch, a user can edit a request IF
  • It is new OR
  • It is active or pending, OR
  • They have at least the user access level entered in the configuration for “Edit Other Requests”, OR
  • The chart is not “posted” AND they are a crew member, dispatcher, or pilot listed in the request.
In Flight Management, a user can edit a request IF
  • It is new OR
  • They have at least the user access level entered in the configuration for “Edit Other Requests”, OR
  • The chart is not “posted” AND they are a crew member, dispatcher, or pilot listed in the request.
Note that once a chart is "posted" or "locked", only a supervisor level access can make any changes to that chart.

 WinAMS Software Updates - 7.0.20.7631 - Posted: 07/13/2007

This build DOES NOT require you to run individual workstation updates if you have not done so since Version 7.0.20.7400.

  • This update is a compilation of many small changes made for specific clients.

 WinAMS Software Updates - 7.0.20.7510 - Posted: 04/28/2007

This build DOES NOT require you to run individual workstation updates if you have not done so since Version 7.0.20.7400.

  • Customizations for LifeLine - Indy
  • DUATS: Now uses Station Corridor Width setting for radius value in area forecasts, rather than the Winds Aloft Corridor Width setting, whose default value (200nm) was too large for DUATS. This will prevent the "Invalid radius" message when obtaining a weather briefing.

 WinAMS Software Updates - 7.0.20.7487 - Posted: 03/20/2007

This build DOES require you to run individual workstation updates if you have not done so since Version 7.0.20.7400.

  • Swapping a request that is open for edit by another workstation no longer causes confusion.
  • The startup Sync routine will now pick up and resolve requests assigned to multiple vehicles.
  • "Unable to lock AIRCRFT" resolved.
  • When starting up application, screen should now come up where it was the last time you closed it.
  • FMM: Vent settings Table now has more columns in entry and printout.
  • You can now enter a birth date the day following the service date; age will print as "Newborn".
  • Communicator Duty Log entries will now start to show up in the duty log (not retroactive).
  • Selecting referring and receiving doctors other than the first time through will still limit the doctor list to the selected agency.
  • Build number included in program title, to make it easier for us to identify screen shots.
  • Adding new Time Distribution reports saves macros properly.
  • Adding new macros to a report allows you to type expressions directly into the macro field.
  • When adding new Time Distribution or User Audit reports, the new report is immediately added to the report list and entered into the report selection field.
  • When selecting tag values for Referring Agency in a macro, both hospitals and EMS agencies may be used together in one report.
  • Record number format changed for Teddy Bear Air.
  • Removed MedStar from the Single F9 Dispatch.
  • In some circumstances the wrong date would be logged for a takeoff, landing, or postion report. Fixed.
  • If a position of "0 x 0" is received from a SkyConnect unit (they sometimes do this when powering up) it won't overwrite the LKP (last known position) in the aircraft record.
  • Similarly if you take a manual posrep and don't fill in valid coordinates, they won't overwrite the LKP in the aircraft record. (These are so the aircraft won't "disappear" off the AeroMap screen.)

 WinAMS Software Updates - 7.0.20.7480 - Posted: 03/08/2007

This build DOES require you to run individual workstation updates.

  • When printing lists of waypoints and hospitals you can now choose to exclude records with empty coordinates.
  • When copying waypoints, you can now edit the county/town/group, allowing you to copy waypoints from one group to another.
  • Auto-fill of phone numbers from the referring agency on a new request works again.
  • Some macro filter field selections raised error messages; fixed.
  • The "last edited" date was sometimes showing erroneous values. Fixed.
  • Autopages: page groups would not save properly when editing autopages. Fixed.
  • Latest database contains new "alternate names" for towns.
  • New Manager->Load AeroMap Layers feature allows you to install updated map layers from the distribution DVD to the network drive, and then from there to each local workstation. After new layers are installed, they still need to be selected in AeroMap.
  • Receiving agency auto-fills phone numbers again.
  • Problems with data refreshing using ADS v8.x with v8.x DLL's resolved.
  • Waypoints->Print->[Landmarks|Hospitals] font size increased if "Only print..." selected.
  • Lists of Road Names are now always made in "Proper" case, to eliminate alphabetization confusion when names with ALL CAPS have been entered.
  • When pagers are edited / added using Pager->Edit Pagers or Manager->Edit Staff, the list used in the pager screen wasn't being updated. Fixed.

 WinAMS Software Updates - 7.0.19.7400 - Posted: 02/27/2007

This build does require you to run individual workstation updates. This workstation update will enable the WinAMS help functions by placing the help files on the local workstation.

Additionally, with this update, after editing items such as hospitals or staff, you may see a future date displayed in the "Last Edited:" box at the top of the window. This is due to a bug in Microsoft Windows and the way in which it decodes certain characters in a date string when that string has been compressed. It has no effect on the underlying data and the only place this date field is used is in the display at the top of the edit boxes. Visually it looks strange but be assured it has no effect on the data. We are working on changing the compression and display of this date.

  • New Features! Landmarks and road intersections can now have an EMS Agency and a Landing Agency associated with them. Any time you use a landmark that has agencies associated with it, the following new features will be seen:
    1. If you create a new scene call, the Referring Agency info will be filled in with the EMS Agency info from the landmark.
    2. If you have a Landing Agency defined for a landmark, that agencie's info will be displayed if you print a flight plan or view the waypoint.
    3. To use this new feature you will need to do some editing.
      1. First, edit Manager->Ed Support->Counties and associate agencies with each county field .
      2. Next, edit the landmarks or road intersections for that county. Merel opening the landmark and saving it will copy the agencies from the county entry, or you can select new ones.
    4. Selecting a new referring or receiving agency will now re-fill the phone number and location of call fields with the new agency's information.
  • The Swap feature has been improved to make sure you can't swap a request into oblivion.
  • Cosmetic changes make some state-specific picklists more readable when editing support lists.
  • Roads, Landmarks, Bases, and Macros can now be hidden just like the other lists.
  • The HELP file (winams.chm) is now installed on the local hard drive. This will get around the problem created when a recent Microsoft security patch restricted access to help files located on remote drives.
  • When printing anything, if you click the Print to File button you'll now get a standard Windows file dialog to choose where to put the resultant text file.

 WinAMS Software Updates - 7.0.19.7395 - Posted: 02/09/2007

This build does not require you to run individual workstation updates.

  • Flight Plan - if you deleted all of the transport plan legs before and including the patient leg, the patient leg marker would go away and not come back. Fixed.
  • Adding Medical Control Doctors on the fly could raise an error. Fixed.
  • When adding new agencies, anamalous default values for latitude and longitude would be used. Fixed.
  • Shands UF Only - sdf export fiels are no longer created.
  • Numeric fields now highlight when clicked to show that you will be erasing the current contents.
  • In certain circumstances, Hobbs elapsed times were not calculating correctly. Fixed.
  • PA State only: Command Facility field selects correctly from the pick list.
  • The County Selector in the Stats Summary was broken. Fixed.

 WinAMS Software Updates - 7.0.19.7372

This build does not require you to run individual workstation updates.

  • New Feature: Event Alarms! These are "alarm clocks" which are activated by events, then de-activated or reset by other events. When they are activated they start a "count-down" timer. When the timer reaches zero, a user defined message is displayed on all screens.

An example usage is an on-scene timer. You can set up an alarm to alert the communicator when an aircraft has been on scene for more than twenty minutes.

Alarms are user defined in a very similar manner to event pages. To edit an alarm template, go to Page->Edit Alarm Template. To edit or kill an alarm that is actively counting down go to Page->Edit Active Alarms.

  • Startup connections: Periodically connections fail to be made to the Database Server. Previously you would get an error message and quit the application. Now the connection is retried five times before quitting.
  • Multi-patient transports: Previous build was eating multi-patient transports in the startup sync check. Fixed.
  • Using the Notification function to log a notification can now be used to trigger Alarm or Page events. In addition a new INCOMING event can be used to trigger pages when the vehicle departs the pickup location with a patient on board.
  • Now works properly if request is scheduled for next month and you cancel it this month.
  • Numeric fields now highlight when clicked into to show you will be erasing the current contents.
  • Sometimes Hobbs elapsed time was not being calculated correctly. Fixed.
  • PA State only: Command Facility field selects correctly from pick list.

 WinAMS Software Updates - 7.0.18.7300

  • Startup synchronization check is now much smarter, and can silently fix most sync errors (although the previous build should have eliminated the cause of most sync errors anyway).
  • The CDU (satellite message) service is now distributed amongst all workstations. For SkyConnect or Fleetilla messages, the last workstation to log an event on a request will be the one to get automatic messages about that request. If that station is turned off, doesn't respond, or it is an Outerlink message, the workstation marked as the default CDU server will get the message. If that station is turned off, other workstations will notice and offer to become the default CDU server. If no workstations are on, the message gets queued until Dispatch is started somewhere. The point is that everything possible is done to avoid missing messages.
  • Transient Aircraft changes:
    • The destination field is now 30 characters long.
    • When you discontinue flight following, the location is backfilled with the Home Base (provided one has been entered for that aircraft). This will make the Nearest Aircraft button more accurate for transients.
    • You won't get the "going too fast" message for transients.
  • Cosmetic cleanup of the activity log page when included with Request Printout.
  • Stats Summary Report: If you deselected Part I you got a blank page in the printout. Fixed.
  • Activity Log on Status Screen should keep up to date.
  • When logging an event or posrep if you moved the time prior to midnight the date didn't back up in the activity log entry. Fixed.
  • Manual posreps: The Landmark field wasn't showing in the activity log. Fixed.
  • If you aborted a request while enroute to get the patient, the default number of souls still increased by the number of patients. Fixed.
  • Status Screen status labels on ground transports now match labels in request.
  • Lifeline: Ground time labels and weather status labels changed
  • StatWin now displays PRL requests. This is turned on or off in the StatWin setup screen.

 WinAMS Software Updates - 7.0.18.7275

  • Tags: With some tag lists, when you de-selected already selected entries in the list, they would still show up in the result. Fixed.
  • Editing hospitals: Hospital info is spread across three databases. If the primary record existed and either secondary one did not, you were treated to an error message. Now you aren't; it just makes a matching secondary record.
  • Obscure Export Data bug where if there was an error during the export, the export was still created, but with undecoded data; fixed.
  • Problems where dialogs failed to regain focus, for example the request dialog staying grayed out after printing a flight plan, have been fixed.
  • Annoying cosmetic flashes when closing modal dialogs have been fixed.
  • If you changed a column of a saved report from a month or quarter to a range of dates, the label on the printout wouldn't update. Fixed.
  • Occasionally when you logged an event, the wrong aircraft entry would be updated. Fixed.
  • You can now print out the contents of all of the staff, support, and some macro pick lists under the Manager menu.
  • New PMHx screens with custom fields for perinatal history taking have been added to the medical chart.
  • Lots of Teddy Bear Air specific changes and modifications

 WinAMS Software Updates - 7.0.18.7142

  • Empty lab values no longer print on chart.
  • ALT, AST, BNP now accept four digits.
  • CK now accepts five digits.
  • Troponin now accepts two decimal points.
  • All "notes" fields in tables now accept sixty characters.
  • Staff fields now validate properly against staff database.
  • All Activity Log reports now include the "ID" of the communicator performing the activity. (The ID is edited in the ID field under Manager->Staff->Dispatcher.)

 WinAMS Software Updates - 7.0.18.7115

  • New DUATS Weather feature: On every new flight request, an FAA standard weather brief is obtained from CSC DUAT and saved in the permanent flight record. This is done invisibly when the flight plan is completed. When the flight plan is printed, you can include either the entire standard brief, or an abbreviated brief which includes only the origin and destination METAR's and TAF's. Internet access is required for this to work. The DUAT feature may be disabled and configured in the AMSGLOBAL.INI file in the MDATA folder; details are found in the HELP file. These settings include the default altitude, route corridor width, winds corridor width, and the ability to include non-associated NOTAMs, tropical depression warnings, and ATC delays. The weather will be requested for the scheduled time, or current time plus five for emergent requests. And there is a new "View Wx" button in the Flight Planner which allows you to view the DUAT weather for a flight. On the View screen, there is now an Update Weather button which allows you to update to the current weather. This button is grayed out for completed requests so you don't accidentically update historical weather. In addition, a "Closest" button has been added which jumps to the closest departure and destination METAR and TAF data.
  • Error log: is saved in the correct folder again.
  • Saved Pages: No longer generates an error message, retrieves saved page correctly.
  • Automatic Position Reports now retrieve heading and groundspeed, and update the ETE based on these data.
  • Dialogs that sometimes wouldn't respond to the cancel button will now.
  • The Pickup Location Longitude was being filled with the Latitude by default. Fixed.
  • Hospital and EMS Agency address labels: Now have an entry field for an "Attention" line which will print on every label; leave blank if none.
  • Address->Hospital | EMS Agency | Doctor -> Labels print routine:
    1. The Agency | Doctor selector has the following changes:
      • It is a Windows Extended list control. This means to select multiple names in a block, click to highlight the first (or last) entry, move to the last (or first) entry, and shift-click to highlight the block of names.
      • To highlight ALL the names, press . (These are standard Windows features.)
    2. You can now select to print to a Label printer (like a Dymo, CoStar, or Seiko); or print to 3 up x 10 or 3 up x 11 label sheets. If you select "Label" printer, be sure to select your label printer in the printer field, too.
    3. PostNet bar codes are now automatically calculated and printed for addresses with valid zipcodes.
  • New Report: Reports -> Lists -> Disposition lists requests by selected dispositions.
  • Follow up -> Personal Flight Log is much prettier, and can now be printed for multiple staff members if you have sufficient access rights.
  • AAMS Report has been cleaned up cosmetically.
  • The following fields have been increased to 30 characters in length: Requestor, referring unit (scene), units at scene, notification names, and other telephone numbers labels.
  • ALNW only: AAOC field picklist fixed.
  • Reports -> Custom -> User Audit -> Copy was overwriting the source of the copy. Fixed.
  • Reports -> Custom -> User TD -> Save wasn't saving. Fixed.
  • Reports -> Export -> Add New Report wasn't saving the list of fields to be exported. Fixed.
  • Reports -> Export -> Add New Report wasn't adding the new report into the list of reports unless you restarted the application. Fixed.
  • Reports -> Export was requiring an entry in the Custom Filter field. Fixed.
  • Reports -> Summaries -> Stats Summary wasn't using the custom filter criteria properly. Fixed.
  • PA Only: You can now edit the PA Hospital Code list used when entering hospitals.
